Kinder Institute Semiquincentennial Travel Award
The application deadline has passed.
The Kinder Institute at the University of Missouri is offering a travel award in connection with the nation's semiquincentennial. This award supports scholars from outside the United States—at all career stages, from graduate students and contingent faculty to full professors—whose participation will enrich the 2026 SHAFR annual meeting in Columbus. Award amounts will range from $500 to $1,000 to assist with travel to the conference. As a condition of the award, recipients will prepare a brief 3-5 minute video toast to the United States in honor of its 250th birthday, to be featured in a digital public history project at the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy at the University of Missouri; the content of the toast is entirely at the discretion of the awardee.
Applicants must use a Google account to submit. You may already have an account through your academic institution that will work for this purpose.
