Snyder is a Professor at American University's School of International Service. Snyder has served SHAFR as a member of Council, as its representative to the Department of State’s Historical Advisory Committee, and on its Committee on Historical Documentation, Robert H. Ferrell Prize Committee, Nominating Committee, William Appleman Williams Junior Faculty Research Grants Committee, and Dissertation Completion Fellowship Committee. She is a past member of SHAFR’s program committee, Passport Editor Search Committee, Public Engagement Task Force, and chair of its Legal History Task Force. Beyond SHAFR, she serves as co-Executive Editor of the journal Modern American History and is a founding co-editor of Columbia University Press' book series, Global America. Publications
