Su Lin Lewis (University of Bristol), ‘The Development Set: Cosmopolitan Interlocutors and Cold War Competition in 1950s Burma’

The SHAFR UK/Ireland seminars are a regular term-time event series for members of SHAFR based in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The seminars provide a regular forum for scholars interested in US diplomatic and international/global history to meet using a digital platform. They provide an additional opportunity for SHAFR members across UK and Irish institutions to engage and learn about each other’s research and provide a source of contact beyond the annual conference. Typically seminars take the format of a discussion of a pre-circulated paper, with another historian serving as lead discussant. Graduate students are very welcome and encouraged to join and present.
