Call for Nominations
SHAFR’s Nominating Committee is soliciting nominations for elected positions. The positions to be filled via the 2026 election are as follows:
- President (1 vacancy; unopposed)
- Vice-President/President-Elect (1 vacancy, 1-year term followed by a 1-year term as president and then a 2-year term on Council)
- At-Large Council Members (3 vacancies; 1 graduate student and 2 non-student; 3-year term; the graduate student council member serves as Co-Chair of the Graduate Committee)
- Nominating Committee (1 vacancy; 3-year term)
Please submit nominations (including self-nominations) to ALL the members of the Nominating Committee (listed below) by email. Nominations must include the nominee’s name, e-mail address, institution and title (if applicable), and a statement of the nominee’s qualifications for a specific position. The committee particularly seeks nominations that provide specific details about the nominee’s service to SHAFR and commitments to the fields of American Foreign Relations broadly defined. It is helpful to indicate whether you have contacted the nominee about his/her/their willingness to serve SHAFR in the relevant position.
Nominations are due July 3, 2026.
