SHAFR UK-Ireland Network CfP
Following the success of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) UK-Ireland online seminar, we would like to capitalise on the collaboration and collegiality of the network members and host a one-day work in progress workshop at the Rothermere American Institute, University of Oxford.
The workshop will take place on 16 January 2026, with pre-circulated papers to be submitted by 3 January. Ideally, we would like to have 6 papers with one commentator for each. Chapters/articles should be no more than 10,000-12,000 words and can be on any aspect of U.S. foreign relations history or the history of the United States in the World. In the event that we are over-subscribed we will seek to include those applicants who do not have the benefit of a US History research seminar at their university or those from under-represented groups.
Some funding is available to support economy travel to Oxford for presenters. Precedence will be given to those who do not have access to alternative sources of funding. You are very welcome to attend if you do no plan to present a paper.
